Congressional Stock Trading Ban Act
This bill prohibits members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from trading individual stocks while in office. Members must divest existing holdings into blind trusts or broad-based index funds within 180 days. Violations result in fines equal to the profit gained plus 10%.
